Nestled deep in the woods of Michigan's Copper Country you will
find a unique store featuring fantastic & whimsical yarns, fibers &
roving of all kinds. Our store, Fiber Whims, is open year-round. It
Sometimes we even have resident fiber animals who love to show
off their attire!
Carol Kreher, opened Fiber Whims in the fall of 2005. Her loves of
spinning, weaving, felting, gardening, woodworking & cooking are
reflected in her handcrafted items & artwork displayed throughout
the store. Over the years, Fiber Whims has developed into a full
service spinning, weaving & felting shop with Jeni Workman joining
us in 2008 sharing her love of knitting, spinning, weaving and fiber
in general.
Visitors find Fiber Whims colorful with the many handspun yarns
and hand processed wool rovings. Some like to touch the angora,
cashmere, mohair & other unique fibers from Ashland Bay Trading
Company Inc, while others enjoy the latest equipment from
Schacht Spindle Company Inc & Louet North America. Readers
enjoy books from Interweave Press & Unicorn Books & Crafts,Inc..
And lets not forget the yarns from the Brown Sheep Company Inc!
For the kids there are day camps, birthday parties & group classes,
and the adults also enjoy the variety of classes, adult & family day
camps, birthday parties & baby showers where they have fun &
learn a new skill! And everybody likes saying hi to Pita & Pepper
our angora rabbits!
